Program Name
HOMEstrong: Lower Bills, Stronger Homes Initiative (the “Program”), operated by HousingNOLA doing business as HOMEstrongLouisiana, in partnership with the United Way of Southeast Louisiana and ReCLAIM Energy, is offering select Louisiana residents the opportunity to apply for a free HVAC energy-savings pilot program.
Description of the Program
HOMEstrong: Lower Bills, Stronger Homes Initiative (the “Program”) is a pilot program of HousingNOLA, in partnership with the United Way of Southeast Louisiana and ReCLAIM Energy, designed to help Louisiana families lower their household energy burden through residential HVAC-efficiency improvements. During Phase One, up to 200 eligible homeowners will receive ReCLAIM Energy’s Solar Saver technology, professional installation and commissioning, and a standard HVAC tune-up free for eligible homeowners. If an existing system needs a repair before it can be tuned up and enrolled, that repair is not covered by the Program and remains the homeowner’s decision and cost. The Program identifies homeowners who may qualify by inviting them to complete a short online form. Submitted information, including household electricity usage, is reviewed to determine eligibility and to measure the Program’s effect on energy use. Participation is voluntary, is free for eligible homeowners, and does not guarantee selection.
Selection Is Not Guaranteed
Signing up does not guarantee that you will be selected. It does not create a place in line, a reservation, or an agreement of any kind. Phase One is limited to approximately 200 homes, and more people are expected to sign up than there are units available, so most people who sign up will not receive an installation in Phase One.
Meeting every eligibility requirement still does not guarantee selection. Being contacted by Program staff is not selection, and an assessment or site visit is not selection. Nothing on this website, in any text message, in any email, or in any conversation with Program staff is an offer or a commitment to provide equipment, a tune-up, or an installation unless and until HousingNOLA confirms your selection to you directly and the work is scheduled.
This is a pilot. HousingNOLA may change, suspend, reduce, or discontinue the Program or any part of it, including the number of homes served and the eligibility rules, and may decline any sign-up before installation. No timeline is promised.
No Savings Are Promised
No specific dollar or percentage savings are promised, projected, or guaranteed. Measuring the real effect on participants’ energy use is the purpose of Phase One, and results will be published regardless of what they show.
